For teens (grades 6-12). No Sign-up Required! Join us for some nature-y and woodsy crafts (aka cottage core). Each meeting features a new super cozy and wholesome project for you to take in whatever creative direction you want. We’ll bring all the supplies and supervision, you bring the cozy vibes and creativity.
Spill the Tea - For teens (grades 6-12). No Sign-up Required! Join teen librarians James and Kirsten in the teen section of the library for a low-key, chill time. Drink tea, talk about life, workshop ideas for future events, and share a topic you know too much about. We'll start off the conversation like a Power Point party or TedTalk about a ridiculous topic we know too much about (or take too seriously) and never get the chance to discuss. No pressure. Good vibes only.
Sign-up to gain access to the Discord server for virtual meetings! Join us and start writing creatively or further develop your writing in stories, poems, nonfiction, essays, fanfiction, or whatever you feel like! For all styles and experience levels. Join us for writing exercises, prompts, share your work (if you want, no pressure), provide constructive feedback, and rant about characters/plot/series with us!
Need something to read? Fill out this quick form if you would like to have an OCPL Teen Librarian pick out some totally not-awful books for you from our Young Adult section. (Grades 6-12).
The Super Teen Card is a special library card that gives extra lending privileges to library patrons ages 13-18 years old. A guardian must sign for this card, but once registered, teens can check out DVDs and video games on their own account. For more information, visit your local library!
Many teens need volunteer hours for service organization, but getting those hours have been harder due to COVID-19. You can now get volunteer hours for reviewing books for the library! Click here to find out more information and submit your review.
