Interlibrary Loans

Need a book that OCPL doesn't currently own? You can request books from other libraries outside the Oldham County Public Library system.

  • Books requested need to be at least 6 months old.
  • A patron has to have owned their library card for 3 months before they can request an inter-library loan.
  • Only 3 items per library card can be checked out every calendar month.
  • You can have 3 items in process at a time.
  • We will hold all arrived ILLs for 5 days before returning to the lender if the item is not picked up.
  • For newer titles not in our system, please use the purchase request service. Choose your home library from the list below, and fill out the form to request an inter-library loan.
  • If you are requesting a book from a library in our system (South Oldham, LaGrange, or Goshen), please use the hold service through the catalog to have the book delivered to your home library.

PLEASE NOTE: Requests titles from only ONE library. Please do not fill out multiple forms for the same title, as it may affect availability.

Lending policies for books outside our system are dependent on the lending library.

ILLs are subject to a $0.25 per day late fee. Please respect the other libraries that have graciously loaned these materials to us.

If a patron does not pick up an ILL twice within a six-month period, their ILL privileges may be subject to suspension.
