Children's Summer Reading Program

Welcome to the 2021 Summer Reading Program from Oldham County Public Library! The Summer Reading Program is a way to celebrate and encourage children's love of reading. Summer Reading can also help build school readiness and stop the summer slide for school age kids.

The Children's Summer Reading Program is for newborns up to kids entering the 5th grade. There are different reading logs to track participation based on age. Select and complete the reading log that fits your child (for the elementary age programs, grade refers to what your child will be entering in the fall). You may have received a booklet in the mail already containing these reading logs. If you need additional booklets, you can pick them up at your local library. You can also print the individual sheets below.
Check in at your local library as you complete your reading logs to pick up prizes! For preschool and elementary age children, you can check in after each 5 days of completed reading to pick up brag tags and reading beads, or wait till you have all 25 days filled in and pick up your prizes all at once.

Once your child has completed their Summer Reading, make sure to fill out the form at the link below!

Participants who complete 25 days earn a book prize and a free child’s ticket to Sauerbeck Family Drive-In!

For Wee Readers, check in at your local library when you have completed the full log to claim your prize.
