Wee Reader (ages 2 & under): Share 25 books with your child to complete the Summer Reading Program.  Come in with your completed reading sheet to earn a prize and a pass to the pool party.
Children through 5th grade: Reading is a habit to brag about! Beginning June 1st, come into the library to get your reading chain and first brag tag. Track your daily reading on your reading log.  For every five days of reading, you earn a brag tag and a summer attraction coupon. Complete five sets of days and earn a special brag tag, a prize, and a pool party pass.

Swim Parties:

Pool Parties are held at the Oldham County Aquatic Center and are weather dependent. Dates and attendance are by location. Pool Parties are for those who have completed the Summer Reading Program and their families. Please see individual programs for completion requirements.

Please bring your pass to the pool for admission!    

July 29th, 7:30-9:30: Camden, Crestwood, Kenwood Station, St. Aloysius & Shelby County
August 5th, 7:30-9:30pm: LaGrange, Locust Grove, Centerfield, Trimble & Henry County
August 7th, 7:30-9:30pm:  Buckner, Harmony, Goshen, St. Francis, Homeschool Students & Jefferson County

Completed your summer reading? Please fill out this form! Students of OCS get credit and extra prizes for participating. This form will make sure your child's reading is shared with their school.

Teen Summer Reading Program

Submit your reading & earn chances to win out of this world prizes!
Teens (ages 12-18 or students entering 6th grade in the fall through 12th grade) are encouraged to read as many books as possible, all of their own choosing. Participants will track their reading online. Each book read earns an entry in the prize of their choice. Read three books and earn a ticket to Fandom Anti-Prom! The Library has partnered with Oldham County Schools to provide incentives and events to reward students for their participation in Summer Reading. See your school’s literacy coach for more information.

Summer Reading for Adults

Read Books & Earn Prizes!
The Adult Summer Reading Program starts on June 1st! Drop in any location to pick up a bookmark reading log. Fill in the back of the bookmark with titles of books you read this summer. Books, ebooks, audiobooks, newspapers, and magazines count! Turn in your bookmark to any Oldham County Library and get a reusable tote while supplies last. Each title filled in represents an entry in a prize drawing at the end of summer for a Galaxy tablet and other prizes. You can also win prizes by attending events! Every adult event will have a themed prize, and winners will be drawn that night for each event.
