Two open positions at Main Library: Can be applied for independently or concurrently.

Technical Services is looking for a Processing and Book Repair Technician. Work independently in a relaxed, behind-the-scenes environment. Position requires attention to detail and care in preparing materials for circulation. Perform basic repairs. Learn the overall functions and workflow of the Technical Services department and the library. Physical requirements: Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time. Ability to do repetitive tasks with speed and accuracy. Employee may need to carry, push, pull, or lift up to 40 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Push and pull fully loaded (50-100 pounds) book trucks. Must have ability to work under pressure, coordinating multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and meet firm deadlines. Carries out Library Assistant duties and responsibilities as required. 
Position:  part-time  (10 hours – Monday and Wednesday 9-2)
Start date:  asap
Education, Training and Experience:
The minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and coursework in Library Science or post high-school education with coursework in library science and/or relevant library experience.  Job performance skills are learned through a combination of library education and library work experience.

Outreach is looking for a library assistant who can staff the new Digital Media Lab in the Main Library on Saturdays. This applicant will need to be able to work independently and assist patrons with a variety of projects and technical elements. Part of the job will be working to create library digital content when the lab is not in use, and providing assistance to patrons using the public computers. The position requires understanding of the overall functions and workflow of the library, and a general understanding of technology. Proficiency with Macs, Microsoft office, and editing software is a plus, but key to this position is a willingness to learn and experiment. Training will be provided for all lab components and duties. Carries out Library Assistant duties and responsibilities, as required. 
Position:  part-time  (7 hours – Saturdays 9:30-4:30pm.) Individuals may apply for all Saturday hours (weekly), or half (every other week).
