Outreach is looking for a library assistant who can staff the Digital Media Lab in the Main Library. This applicant will need to be able to work independently and assist patrons with a variety of projects and technical elements. Part of the job will be working to create library digital content when the lab is not in use, and providing assistance to patrons using the public computers. The position requires understanding of the overall functions and workflow of the library, and a general understanding of technology. Proficiency with Macs, Microsoft office, and editing software (Final Cut Pro, Audacity, Photoshop) is a plus, but key to this position is a willingness to learn and experiment. Training will be provided for all lab components and duties. Carries out Library Assistant duties and responsibilities, as required.
Position: part-time (20.50 hours – Tues-Thursday, 3:45-8:15, Saturdays 9:30-4:30pm.)
Start date: June 1st
Education, Training and Experience:
The minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant library experience. Job performance skills are learned through a combination of on-job training, library education, and library work experience.
