Oldham County Public Library Closed

Effective immediately, all locations of the Oldham County Public Library will be closed until it is deemed safe to reopen.

Due to the continued health threat of COVID-19, the Oldham County Public Library buildings are closed to public access in an effort to help limit exposure of staff and patrons to contagion.

This decision was made following revaluation of library resources and infrastructure to best maintain the health and safety of the community. No fines or fees will be accrued on any materials checked out during this time. We ask that patrons hold on to their materials until the library reopens.

All patrons are also encouraged to take advantage of OCPL’s many digital offerings, such as ebooks and audiobooks available through Kentucky Libraries Unbound, RBDigital, and the free online education available through Universal Class. Please note: the Overdrive checkout limit has temporarily been increased to 20 items at a time.

Library staff will be posting regular updates to our social media with activities for families, digital services highlights, and announcements. You can follow us on facebook, twitter, or instagram. If you are looking for assistance with library digital services, you may call the library during business hours to speak to a librarian, or email ask@oldhampl.org for assistance.

How can I check out books?

You can now place holds on items in the OCPL catalog for pick up via drive-thru at the Main Library in LaGrange, or via curbside delivery at the South Oldham Library in Crestwood and the Mahan Library in Goshen. Drive-thru and curbside hours are 1-7pm Monday-Thursday, and 1-5pm Fridays.

  • Please make sure to follow signs for instructions at your designated pick up location
  • We are asking that you do not return items at this time; check out limits have been extended to allow you to still pick up new items while holding on to the old. If you need to return, the book drops are still open. For the safety of staff and to help current operations, please only use the book drops if you have no other choice. Note that items returned through the book drop will not be checked in and removed from your account until after they have come out of quarantine.
  • The way we handle holds has been changed to offer better protection for both staff and patrons! Please note that this may cause a delay in times between when you place a hold and when you receive notification that items are available for pick up. Thank you for your patience while we strive to serve you!
  • We are not accepting donations at this time.
  • If you have questions, feel free to email us at ask@oldhampl.org or send us a private message on social media, @oldhamlibrary.
